Dear YAP members
You have probably heard about Corona Virus , also known as COVID-19. There is lots of talk about it on the news, and in social media. You do not need to worry about it too much, but we all need to take care of ourselves so we don’t get sick. We also don’t want to spread it to others if we can help it.
In an effort to decrease the rate of spread of COVID-19 virus infection, Autism Okanagan is putting YAP (and any other programs) on hold , effective immediately. Although YAP in not a large gathering, the risk of passing infections to each other, and to our leaders and volunteers is real. To decrease this risk there will not be any YAP meetings for at least 4 weeks. You will be notified when YAP will start up again.
In the meantime visit this website to learn how to protect yourself from catching infections.http://www.bccdc.ca/health-info/diseases-conditions/covid-19/about-covid-19/prevention If you are sick with a fever, cough, or have difficulty breathing, here is some advicehttp://www.bccdc.ca/health-info/diseases-conditions/covid-19/about-covid-19/if-you-are-sick or you could call your doctor’s office, call the nurse line at 811, or if very sick, go the Kelowna General hospital emergency department.
Take care of yourselves. We look forward to starting YAP again as soon as possible.
…and remember… wash your hands often … and don’t touch your face.
