Changes are underway for YAP – our Youth and Adult social program for ages 19 and over

We will be pausing YAP at the end of February 2023 as we re-organize due to a change in leadership and limits of funding. However, we will be excited to see you all when we start up again in mid April – see https://autismokanagan.ca/programs/aok-social-club-yap-program-2/ for details.

One of our amazing leaders, Megan, is moving on to new adventures. Here is a note being sent out to members of YAP from your YAP leaders Megan & Mitch ….

Hi Everyone,
Next week Megan will no longer be a facilitator at YAP but hopes to volunteer when she can, to stay connected.
Megan says “I will miss everyone dearly as I have learned so much from each member and have so so much fun with all the activities we have explored together. It was an amazing experience to see everyone grow and create friendships. As always, it has been an honor to work the loveliest and kindest people I have ever met.”
Mitch says “while we loved having Megan around she has an amazing future she is going to pursue and we wish her the best. I hope that I will be able to run things as well as she could.”
While we search for another facilitator, we will place YAP on pause for the month of March. No YAP activities will happen for the month of March. This gives Mitch time to learn the ropes and for AOK to find anther facilitator. But fret not, just because there are no official events we still might get together during the break and there will be lots of opportunities on Discord to meet with each other.
There will also be changes made to the YAP program, which we will inform you about after the pause or hiatus is over.

Mitch looks forward to working more closely with all of you.
