Hockey
The Kelowna WildCats Special Hockey Program gives children, youth, and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities the opportunity to play hockey and develop fitness, coordination, and social skills within a team environment.
-
This equal opportunity team is open to children with disabilities ages 5 to 15 and their siblings. There are 30 spots available.
When this program started in 2006 it was the only hockey team of its kind in British Columbia. There are now several teams in central BC, the lower mainland and the island providing team members opportunities to travel to other communities to play. A wrap-up provincial tournament is held in April each year.

The Kelowna Wild Special Hockey Program was created in 2016 to expand the program to give older youth and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities the opportunity to play hockey, and develop fitness, coordination, and social skills within a team environment.
As an equal opportunity team, the team is open to males and females age 16 and up with disabilities, as well as their parents or siblings.
The team has room for 30 players. It is a recreational program developed so participants of the Kelowna WildCats can continue playing hockey. New members are encouraged to join as well.
