Autism Okanagan Summer Intern Position

Autism Okanagan Association (AOK) is a Kelowna-based charity supporting individuals and families living with autism in the Okanagan. Our mission is to improve the quality of life and create opportunities for autistic individuals and their families by providing information, resources, education, training, programs and activities in an autism-friendly environment.
We are looking for a summer intern to help make a difference in the lives of people with autism and their families. A portion of the position will involve working to develop and improve our social media presence with Facebook and email newsletter, assistance with updating our website, as well as compiling and organizing our membership lists and volunteer data base.
The other portion of the program will be working directly with teens and young with autism in a work readiness program based at Arion Farms, Kelowna. Previous experience working with children and youth is necessary. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Salary: $13/hour
Hours: 35 hours per week for 9 weeks, late June late August
Eligibility:
- Between 19 and 30 years old
- Registered full-time as a student this past year and intending to return to school in the next academic year
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
