Our newest board member, Rob Zoppi and his wife Keri Zoppi of Kelowna are excited to be sharing their new program, Autism Adventures, with the Okanagan. They realized that many families of autism do not go on family vacations outside the area they live. This can limit opportunities for exploring and visiting new places. Autism Adventures hopes to change that!
The first family adventure will support children with autism that are currently enrolled in grades two to four (2018-2019 year). The program starts with some learning and socializing sessions in fall 2019 … and a family cruise travel will take place during the less chaotic travel month in January 2020. How exciting!
Watch for more information, soon to come, on our program page. In the meantime, if you are interested and have a child with a diagnosis of autism, entering grades three to five in the fall of 2019, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will connect you with the Autism Adventures team for more information.
… and a big thank you to the Zoppi family for joining Autism Okanagan to support our local families. And thank you to West Jet, who have agreed to help support this amazing program via their Airport Community Giving Program
Note that there will be some costs for this trip. ….and always remember, we are a not for profit organization. All our board members are volunteers. Please consider donating to Autism Okanagan – all the money we receive goes directly to help us continue our programs and develope new ones.
